UNTITLED
(JUNK FOOD CAMOUFLAGE)
(2008)

This wall paper project was inspired by my research on “disruptive pattern material”, that is, camouflage, which has figured in some of my recent work. Soldiers use many different kinds of materials to camouflage themselves, incluing leave and sticks, large stringy costumes that look like moss, and other materials meant to blend in with the natural environment. My camouflage is inspired by the idea that if soldiers were trying to be camouflaged in Los Angeles, they should wear a donut to blend in with the LA vernacular landscape.
